Owen Smith
Adrenaline and storytelling collide in Country/Rockabilly artist Owen Smith
Born and raised in regional NSW, Owen crafts an authentic and yet playful tone in his music. Owen aspires to the soulful tones of Phil Emmanuel and Ian Moss with his roots in the Country sounds he grew up to of Slim Dusty and Adam Brand.
Owen has burst into 2024 with the March 1 release of his debut single 'Wild Wild Weather'. The release comes hot off his graduation from the CMAA's 2024 Senior Academy with a sold out final concert to Moonshiners, Tamworth, and their opening concert performance for the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Owen is also a Grand Finalist for the Australian National Busking Championships (2023), for the CCMA New Songwriter of the Year (2023) and the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards (2024).
Debut Single 'Wild Wild Weather'
"Wild Wild Weather is about this love affair we have with the land. It draws us in, spins us around, and then throws yet another disaster at us. It's like a bad-love story. We love this land to bits. We're addicted. We pick up the pieces and do it all again. I don't know what tomorrow will bring... but the forecast is Wild Wild Weather." - Owen
